Jurassic Park the novel by Michael Crichton is one of the best books I have ever read, for any JP or Dinosaur fan it is a must read.It is a long story but not boring. It was published in 1991 and is set in the year 1989. It has characters that were not in the film like Ed Regis. Some characters like Dr Wu, Gerry Harding(in case you do not know, he is Sarah Harding's father; ironic isn't it)and Dodgeson have a much bigger role. In this may I say John Hammond is much meaner and he deserves what happens(if you don't know the read it). I have read this around 10X so far(no shit!) and it is a base for my fan fiction, Jurassic Park: Shadows.

Unsurpising that the genetic crisis should go unreported
The prologue tells of biogenetics companys.Then you read of a young boy that been attacked. He says "raptor" before he dies. No-one knows what he meant and they think he meant hupia (faceless vampires that steal children). It was reported that a back-hoe killed him but I know it was a Velociraptor that escaped and already killed two construction workers..I think that is why in the movie they show the gate keeper getting killed by a raptor.
This book is one those books that you read and then read it again. I mean like WOW! Michael Chrichton captures the thrill, amazement and action. It is one of the best books i have read and it is quite easy to know why it is such a bestseller. This book makes me proud to be a JP Fan. The dinosaurs are described in great detail and this is a book all JP fans should own. Like the film this is essential to the World of JP.
